Purpose-designed for the wellbeing of human beings – wherever they go
Ísar offers all people aboard visibility, accessibility, comfort and amenities never seen before in High Mobility vehicles. An insulated cabin, double glazing all around, dispersed, silent space heating for even arctic conditions, and powerful air conditioning for hot climates.
Modular platform
Initially available in 2.55 m width, three wheelbase lengths, 4 door, 6 door or 8 door. A short rear overhang for absolute off-road performance, or longer overhang for more carrying capacity. Fortified Cargo Carriage Roof or panoramic double glazed Aurora View roof options. Dedicated cargo as well as combi versions are available. Future variants include: 2.15m wide Medium Duty, 1.8m wide Light duty, and 54” tyre amphibious Ultra Duty cab-forward derivatives, all feasible by our unique modular architecture.

A road car suspension system unlike any other

The most important element to allow unprecedented travel time savings and comfort over any terrain, is Ísar‘s proprietary High Ground Coverage Suspension system. Rising rate pneumatic springing mates with off-road racing derived damping contolling a full 50 cm of travel, HGCS. Over 10 years of hard professional use of our first HGCS system has proven it to completely isolate passengers from road shock even at impossibly high speed over rough mountain tracks.
Tyres: Bigger is better. Ours are biggest.
To make sure our customers stay on top and keep going long after all other wheeled vehicles have sunk and stuck, we specify 49 inch diameter tyres as standard. Provisions have been made for fitting tyres up to a nominal 54 inches in diameter, making the compact, lightweight Ísar vehicles serious rivals to vastly more expensive to run and slow tracked vehicles.
Yet, in spite of the hitherto unheard of off-road performance, Ísar vehicles are homologated to the EU Road Vehicle Rulebook, and can therefore be used in normal traffic.

Powertrains suitable for today and tomorrow

Our customers have a wide range of requirements regarding what energy source fits them best. Current or future replacement of fossil fuel by non-carbon emitting energy is integrated into Ísar’s basic design. An example is the agreement to develop a game-changing, CO2 positive, Roadless Rapid Transit™ solution in Greenland, This is Greenland’s first land transport project, linking two important communities across unspoiled nature, water conservation area and designated Unesco World Heritage area. Therefore, the Environmental Agency of Greenland stipulates the use of methanol as fuel for the project, supplied by green methanol maker Carbon Recycling International. Ísar‘s Extreme Mobility Electric Propulsion (EMEP) solution for practical off-pavement transport electrification is integrated into Ísar‘s basic design, is in development and will be available after launch, with or without a Range Extender ICE generator.
Durable drivetrains
Ísar’s drivetrains are meant for longtime use and abuse in extreme environments. As an example, we use oversized Dana differentials and other global mass market, tried and true high-quality components, solving the fragility problems and enormous maintenance needs of current drastically modified "supertruck" vans and SUVs on large tyres.

Anodised high-strength aluminium structure
– No paint needed!
Ísar’s main structural and bodyshell material is anodised, high strength, T6 temper aircraft-grade aluminium alloy, for lightness, stiffness and supreme corrosion resistance. Hydro Aluminium supplies Ísar with fully carbon-neutral premium materials and decades of aluminium vehicle manufacturing experience. This includes Hydro‘s adhesive joining system that replaces welding for an array of benefits. Adhesive joints are stronger, more precise, less expensive, fully sealed and take less time in series production.
New Lean Duplex high-strength,
high-elongation stainless steel
A new, super-high-strength, ultra corrosion resistant steel from our partner Stalatube is used for high-impact parts like suspension arms, subframes etc, giving a nearly limitless corrosion- and maintenance-free life. A clean-sheet, tightly packaged, fit-for-purpose design, using lightweight non-corroding materials and Ísar’s "No Dead Luggage" and “No Space Waste” design concepts means Ísar is lighter than any current fully modified 4x4 or tracked vehicle of comparable capacity by. 25-50%, i.e. 1 to 3 tons, Because of careful material choices, Ísar vehicles can therefore be paint-free. Saving the environment, saving money.

Ísar‘s modular design adapts to almost any need for safe, rapid, sustainable tread-lightly travel on or off roads
Our "LIGHTFOOT" environmental concept can spare unspoiled areas from suffering intrusive road infrastructure. Ísar vehicles can economically carry passengers at road speeds over rough roads, or even no roads, but also motorways. Ísar “treads lightly” thanks to low weight and the huge Low Ground Pressure tyres with central pressure control. All Ísar design choices aim to minimally impact the environment, whilst being utterly reliable, spectacularly long lasting, and giving a high return on investment.
Ísar only relies on fossil fuel as necessary to ensure occupant safety far away from built-up areas. Even our first prototype uses biogas from local household waste. As used for the Greenland project, geothermally produced Carbon Capture methanol e-fuel is a functional option, right now. Electric hybrid to fully electric solutions are built into the core design, using the General Motors Ultium E-propulsion system.
